Dr Emma Peel’s research involves generating genomic and transcriptomic resources for Australian wildlife as a tool to investigate immunity, evolution, and fuel peptide discovery. She has expertise in the characterisation of complex immune and peptide gene families, with a particular interest in discovery and functional characterisation of antimicrobial peptides from marsupial milk and pouch, and monotreme venom.
